The temple, which is located at the southwestern tip of the island of Bali on a steep and high rock platform jutting into the sea, is the Sad Kayangan Temple which is believed by Hindus to be a buffer for 9 winds. This temple was originally used as a place to worship a holy priest from the 11th century named Empu Kuturan. He passed down the teachings of the Traditional Village with all its rules.

Denpasar is the capital of the Province of Bali which is also the center of government and economy of the Province of Bali. Denpasar is also a city area located in the Province of Bali, Indonesia. Denpasar is the largest city in the Nusa Tenggara Islands and the second largest city in Eastern Indonesia after Makassar City. The growth of the tourism industry on the island of Bali has pushed the city of Denpasar to become a center for business activities, and positioned this city as an area with per capita income and high growth in the province of Bali.
Klungkung Regency
Semarapura town is easily reached from Gianyar via the highway. The regency is famous for its classic Balinese paintings which mostly depict stories of epics such as Mahabharata or Ramayana. These classical style paintings come from the frescoes of the Balinese palaces, and can also be found at the Klungkung Palace in the downtown area. The Semarajaya Museum is also located in the area.
Some 64.4% of the land area of Klungkung is made up of the offshore islands of Nusa Penida, Nusa Ceningan, Nusa Lembongan and eleven smaller islands, which together form Nusa Penida District, of which the town of Sampalan is the administrative center; the other three districts lie on the island of Bali itself, in its southeast corner.
